I went out for a walk today for some much needed leg stretching after being cooked up inside during Storm Sandy. There were a few genuine scary moments due to excessive gusts of wind that wobbled the apartment, I guess it was these gusts that pulled down so many trees. I love my neighborhood and it’s a strange feeling seeing parts of it uprooted and broken. The upside was watching young children claiming fallen trees as their own, they also appeared to be more fun to climb that way.

The last two photographs are of the large tree in front of our apartment that had me concerned and of our (thankfully) unscathed balcony.
